Windows 7 startup monitor out of range

Jul 23, 2009 · Yesterday I was called up by one of my friends who had by mistake changed the monitor resolution to a value that his computer monitor cannot support.. Due to this he was unable to see anything on the screen and his monitor was giving a message “Out of Range”.This problem can be easily solved as follows.

• Oct 30, 2014 · It works fine but I just discovered that I cannot get any display in safe mode, regardless of what I set the resolution to. Also no display on an older square LCD monitor. Everything says out of range. I researched this but the only advice is to lower the resolution but even at the lowest (800 x 600) I still get out of range in safe mode.
